Dear Andrew

I believe that the whole handicapping issue particularly on the Vaaldam needs to be addressed. I strongly support your editorial and think that is issue is long overdue for a complete overhaul as there needs to be some transparency in the handicapping adjudication process(i.e there should be a process). I can not believe that in today's world of ever faster communications, computer programmes and access to world wide databases that we are still using the suck of thumb method.

Whilst I have strong feeling on the matter and would put myself in the supporter of the IRC camp, I do wonder why our national body is so quiet on this issue. Is IRC now the recommended handicapping system of our national body ?.If so why is the provincial body I.e. NKA so adverse to even discussing this method.Am I wrong in think that this is exactly the type of guidance and administration that is the responsibility of the national body?.

I would appreciate your comments and believe that some sort of forum need to be set up to discuss and try and make some advancement in this tricky area.I would appreciate seeing whatever responses you have had from your article.

Regards

Keith Vennell
