Interesting comments from all. However look at the numbers that were achieved at HMYC, this was an open class regatta. One of the barriers of people trying to get in to sailing is of course the cost. Not everbody has the odd R100 000.00 lying around to by a brand new boat.

On talking to sailors at regattas around KZN the type of racing that they are interested in is fun events with some serious racing. Ie allow the racing guys to race and encourage the social sailors to join in for fun.
