RCYC Bay Race to Barker Rock

Down in Cape Town there was sailing on Saturday despite the fact that the Springboks were playing a test match that afternoon, something which would simply never happen in Durban. Only a few boats braved the damp and chilly conditions to start the RCYC Bay Race to Barker Rock and back. The wind was very light and fluky, but the lads persevered and finally enjoyed a great sail as the wind picked up around lunch time. Cathy R (Compass 47) - Lood Rabie, Apricot (Miura) - Bat Tromp and Nautibuoy (Petersen 33) - Theo van der Hoek, finished in the pouring rain, but in time to see the second half of the rugby! Good timing lads!

Weather permitting, a fun cruise to Hout Bay is planned for next weekend -22nd and 23rd June. The Hout Bay boats will meet up with Royal Cape at Sandy Bay for a raft up lunch and a Trivial Pursuit contest, followed by a braai at Hout Bay Yacht Club in the evening.
