29 July 2005

Greetings again from Switzerland. When we left the yacht club yesterday, there were no results, so here they are:

Day 1 Results
Andrew Collier, RSA 1329, Pink fleet: R1-45th, R2-51st, R3-24th, overall position 118

Chris Gough, RSA 1347, Red fleet : R1-74th, R2-50th, R3-52nd, overall position 187

Brevan Thompson, RSA 1370, Blue fleet : R1-30th, R2-31st, R3-47th, overall position 101

Matthew Shaw, RSA 1369, Green fleet: R1-31st, R2-55th, R3-51st, overall position 147

Taariq Jacobs, RSA 1319, White fleet : R1-29th, R2-39th, R3-46th, overall position 111

Today (Friday 29th – 2nd day of racing), our sailors sailed a further three races in each division. Conditions were similar to yesterday, with clear skies and thermal winds – 8 to 18knots. Official results are not out yet, but it appeared that Taariq got two top twenty results in his division, and Brevan attained one. Other results were a bit up and down.

We are not sure if we are going to have racing tomorrow, as rain is predicted in the morning, thus there will probably be no thermal wind. We will update today’s results tomorrow

Last night we attended the IODA cocktail party (Rob, Alison & Jill) and the boys went to a social for the sailors. They had a prize giving for the day’s winners, plus some spot prizes.

Cheers for now from:

Taariq
Andrew
Chris
Matthew
Brevan
Rob Onvlee- Coach
Alison Thompson- Manager
Jill Onvlee- Country Rep
