LDYC hosted some 60 odd boats for Northvaal Keeler Provincials for some 7 keelboat classes in ultra-light conditions. Some of the KZN crews who brought home gold and silver were:
Hunter: Odens Wrath - Tony Cockrill & Andrew Walford There was no sailing on Friday due to lack of wind. Three races were eventually sailed on Saturday and another three on Sunday with all races being sailed in very light 2-5 knot conditions - real puff hunting stuff. The Hunters (+/-12 boats) were convincingly won by Oden's Wrath (Tony Cockrill) with a string of 1st places, 1 second and 1 retire (after winning). Well sailed Tony and Andrew. The L26 fleet had racing very closely contested with the overall lead changing regularly and only 5 point spread between the first four boats. Prize giving was delayed due a protest (Mischief against Eliminator) which if it had been successful would have seen Glen Marshall in 2nd place. The first four boats in the L26 Fleet (9 boats) were:
1st Philanderer - Richard Parker
Graham & Paul Wilcox
