Hi Andrew

You make the merger of the two clubs sound so close? I wish I was as optimistic as you!

But you're right, the incumbent committees need to stand up and be counted. They need to make it absolutely clear to everyone now (before nominations are called for new committees) just what the status quo is, and where we stand. There appears to be too much pussy-footing around the issue, and nothing concrete happening. The people who represent us, the members, must keep us totally informed as we do have a right to know what is going on.

The sport in Durban desperately needs the two clubs to merge. To this end we need to be represented by people who are committed to the process, and who will keep members totally informed about proceedings. We don't need to be represented by people who have their own agendas, have ulterior motives for being there, or who simply do not hear the collective voices of the sailors. In brief, we need our representatives to stand up and tell us in plain and simple terms their viewpoint on the possible merger BEFORE we have to vote for them.

Regards
