Eligibility: Any full-time pupil at a KwaZulu Natal school, subject to the following age limits as at date of regatta.

NB. Where applicable, skipper and crew shall be from the
same school.
Dabchick: Skippers must elect, prior to the 1st race
whether to sail the whole series with or
without a crew.
NB. ENTRIES : The entry fee is R55.00. Please send in entries as soon as possible, before Tuesday 25th February 2003 to facilitate the smooth running of the event. Entries will, however, be accepted at the regatta from 0800 hours on Saturday 1 March.
Trophies and Prizes: Class trophies will be awarded to the winning team of each class in which there were 10 or more official starters in any one race, with additional trophies for the best girls' dinghy team. Gift vouchers will be awarded to the winning schools in each class.
Rules: As per sailing instructions.
Scoring: There shall be no official teams as such. Each boat will score (in RRS A2) according to the bonus points system and the winning school for each trophy will be that school whose first two boats achieve the lowest combined total in the regatta. Should any team lack a second member, the missing member will be recorded and scored as "Did Not Compete".
Number of Races: If possible, there will be 8 races with 2 discards if 6 or more races are sailed. 1 discard for 4 - 5 races and in the event of less than 4 races, all shall count.
Starting Times: Saturday: No earlier than 10.00 am
Sunday: No earlier than 9.00 am
Subsequent races each day will be held as soon as possible after the first, and starting times thereof shall be posted on the official notice board inside the club house. The final race will start no later than 2.30pm on the Sunday, 2nd March 2003.
Registration: Will take place between 8.00 and 9.30 am on the Saturday of the regatta in the HMYC club house, where competitors will be issued with their sailing instructions and attend a compulsory briefing at 9.30am.
Liability: Lifejackets or buoyancy aids, must be worn at all times whilst out on the water. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in disqualification. Competitors participate at their own risk and none of the organisations or persons concerned in the running of the regatta accepts any liability for damage or injury sustained.
ENTRY CONDITIONS
Entries will only be accepted subject to the following conditions:
1. Competitors at the Regatta shall be accompanied by a parent or teacher.
2. The Indemnity Clause shall be signed by the Parent/Legal Guardian.
3. This Entry Form shall be accompanied by the appropriate Entry Fee.

2. The same behaviour is expected of scholars as if they are at school, during the period of the regatta, both on and off the water.
3. Your attention is drawn to the possible dangers of hypothermia and dehydration while sailing. Parents are advised to make proper provision for warm protective clothing and on-board liquid beverages.
4. Competitors are encouraged to wear some form of school sports kit during the regatta and especially for the prize giving (eg tracksuits). However, it is important that the wishes of the school principal be observed in this respect.
