THE STRAY CAT NOTICE OF REGATTA
28 & 29 June 2003
1. THE ORGANISING AUTHORITY
· The regatta is organised by the Island Sailing Club.
2. RULES
· The regatta will be governed by the 2001/2004 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of South African Sailing (SAS), the By-laws and Rules of Sailing KZN, the Class Rules, Sailing Instructions and this Notice of Regatta. The regatta is classified Category C in terms of RRS Appendix 1, Regulation 20.
3. ENTRIES :
· The regatta entry fee is R100.00 payable to the Island Sailing Club.
· Entries shall be submitted on the official Entry Form obtainable from the Island Sailing Club,..
4. REGISTRATION
· Registration shall take place at the Race Office in the Island Sailing Club on the 28th of June 2003.
5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
· Sailing instructions will be issued to all competitors upon registration.
6. SAILING AREA & COURSES
· The regatta will be sailed in Durban Harbour, any changes will be displayed on the bridge boat.
7. STARTING TIMES & RACE SCHEDULE
· A maximum of SIX races is scheduled for the Regatta of which a minimum of FOUR races must be completed to constitute the Championship.
· The first race will not start before 10h30 on the 28th June 2003, and no race will start later than 14h00 on the 29th June 2003. The starting times and schedule of races will be published in the Sailing Instructions.
10. SCORING
· The Low Points scoring system RRS Appendix A will apply.
· If more than 4 races are completed, a yachts worse result will be discarded.
· If SIX races are completed, a yachts two worst results will be discarded.
11. PRIZES
Prize giving to take place in the club house
12. LIABILITY :
· The attention of all competitors is drawn to the fact that participation in the contest is entirely at their own risk and no responsibility for damage or injury resulting therefrom will rest with the organising authority, the Class Association, the host club or any other person connected with the running of the regatta.
13. HARBOUR REGULATIONS
The attention of competitors is directed to the Harbour Regulations which may not be infringed.
