NOTICE OF REGATTA

26 TO 28 APRIL 2003

RULES
The regatta will be governed by 'rules' as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (2001/2004), the Rules of the Hunter Class Association, except where specifically amended by the Sailing Instructions, the Notice of Regatta and Course Card will form part of the Sailing Instructions

1 ELIGIBILITY
1.1 The helmsman and crew of a yacht entered in the regatta shall be a member in good standing of a Yacht Club affiliated to South African Sailing
1.2 The Owner and the helmsman of a yacht entered in the regatta shall be a member in good standing of the Hunter Class Association
1.3 Each yacht entered shall have a valid class measurement certificate issued by South African Sailing
1.4 All fees (membership and entry) shall be paid before the scheduled starting time of the first race. Where races are sailed without payment of said fees, the results shall be disregarded

2 SCHEDULE OF RACES
2.1 A competitor's briefing will be held at 10:00 on 26 APRIL 2003
2.2 The warning signal time of the first race will not be before 11:00 on 26 APRIL 2003
2.3 The warning signal times for succeeding races will be displayed on the Regatta Notice Board
2.4 No race will start after 12:00 on 28 April 2003.

3 ADVERTISING
3.1 The regatta will be classified, in terms of the RRS Section II, Appendix 1, Regulation 20 as a Category 'C' event
3.2 Notwithstanding any other rule, the Race Committee reserves the right to require the removal from display of any advertising which, in it's opinion, is not in good taste

4 CHAMPIONSHIP
4.1 A minimum of ten valid entries received one hour before the scheduled warning signal of the first race
4.2 At least ten finishers in any two races of the series
4.3 At least four races completed.

5 ENTRIES
Entry fee R100.00 NO Late Fee Charge
5.1 Entries will be accepted up to one hour before the warning signal of the first race.
5.2 The entry fee must accompany the completed and signed entry form

6 REGISTRATION
6.1 Entries shall be confirmed by registration with the Regatta Secretary at the venue from 08:30 on 26 April 2003

7 MEASUREMENT
7.1 Each yacht shall be in possession of a valid measurement or registration certificate, which shall be presented at registration
7.2 All yachts sailing in the Championships shall be made available for, and pass, random inspections or measurement checks which may take place between first day of event and last day of event, under the direction of the Race Committee

8 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 Sailing Instructions will be available at the Regatta Secretary's Office one hour prior to the start of the first race

9 COURSES
9.1 The courses to be sailed will be set out in the Sailing Instructions

10 SCORING
10.1 The Low Point Scoring System of Appendix "A" will apply

11 RACES
11.1 The Championship shall consist of a maximum of 10 races
11.2 4 races are required to be completed to constitute a series
11.3 When fewer than 5 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores
11.4 When 5 or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores, excluding her worst scores
11.5 When 9 or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her two worst scores

12 AWARDS, PRIZES, AND TROPHIES
12.1 Prizes and other trophies, will be awarded at the sole discretion of WYAC.
12.2 The prize giving will follow as soon as possible after the last race

13 LIABILITY
13.1 The attention of all competitors is drawn to the fact that participation in this regatta is entirely at their own risk and no responsibility for damage, injury or loss arising from participation in this regatta will rest with the Organising or National Authorities, Organising Committee, the Class Association, the Host Club, or any person or agent of these bodies

14 GENERAL INFORMATION
a) The club can provide parking and camping facilities
b) Camping free for competitors.
c) There are no electrical points available for campers.
d) There will be catered meals available as well as a cash bar, please support the club.

15 LAUNCHING & BOAT MOORINGS
a Dry sailing will not be permitted.
b Moorings will be provided.
c A ferry service will be provided.
