South African Hunter Class Association
The Hunter Class is one of Smooth Sailing's associates and as one of the more progressive classes in South Africa is trying hard to make sure that it gains as much popularity as possible.

It is also one of the few classes, which is building new boats locally and at a competitive price. The boats are being built at Fast Yachts in Pinetown and already the first boat is out of the mould and the second is being laid up at present. According to those who have seen it first hand the boat already out of the mould is as tough as nails, nice and solid with a fair finish, all round a quality product.

The plan is to have five new boats built by the time the Hunter KZN Champs take place from the 14th to the 16th of December at RNYC in Durban. Whether all five are on the water for this regatta remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, at least two will be and it will be interesting to see how well they go.

If you are interested in sailing the Hunter KZN Champs you will find the Notice of Race in the list at the bottom of this newsletter while if you need to think about borrowing a boat Dave Claxton is probably the best man to speak to. You can get him on 082 455 1071.
