Hobie 16 & 505 KZN Champs - Saturday & Sunday 27 & 28 April 2002
14 Hobie 16's and 9 505's enjoyed two good, if slightly light air days of sailing off Durban this weekend when both classes sailed their KZN Champs. Despite the light conditions the Hobies got in 5 races and the 505's four. The racing was tight throughout and there was no runaway leader in either class. All who sailed enjoyed a good event and some good social activity too with a fine party down at the Beach Site on Saturday evening. The results were dominated to a degree by the Gauteng sailors who made the trip down, taking two of the top three positions in both classes. Clearly they enjoyed the light air conditions!
