Mirrors threat to Optimist and Dabbies at Nationals this year ....

Northvaal Executive Chairman, Rob Willcox, acknowledges that juniors sailing Mirrors are a threat to the Optimist and Dabchick national classes…...

At a Northvaal dinghy meeting on Thursday evening (6th June 2002), the recently elected chairman, Rob Willcox said that "under no conditions would the Mirrors be allowed to sail with the Optimist and Dabchick classes at their Nationals to be held at Aeolians in December this year".

www.rule69.co.za website learned that Mr Willcox believes that if the Mirrors are allowed to sail then they would draw sailors away from the Optimist and Dabchick fleets.

One of the organisers also mentioned that they were going the "purist route" this year…..
